Learning to handle TEM grids and support films

EM Resolutions was pleased to support the RMS Electron Microscopy Summer School in July, hosted by LEMAS at the University of Leeds . The annual Summer School with tuition from leading experts, is an ideal course to learn about preparing specimens and getting the best from Electron microscopes. It enables students and early career scientists to get hands on experience of a wide range of electron microscopy techniques that they can then utilise in their own labs.  Members of the EM Resolutions team ran tutorials on TEM and SEM consumables, to compliment the series of lectures, practical demonstrations and workshops throughout the week. With our experience of manufacturing support films, we were able to offer the students practical advice on how to choose the best support film for their research, along with practical tips and tricks on handling grids and reducing the risk of damage to the delicate films.

It was great to meet so many enthusiastic students who had lots of interesting questions.

As a result we have put together a webpage of FAQ’s to feature some of them.
