Microscopy Societies in the UK
Royal Microscopical Society (RMS)
The RMS is dedicated to furthering the science of microscopy. It does that through a wide range of activities that support research and education in microscopy, and through enabling microscopists to make advances and developments in microscopy, cytometry and imaging.
Society of Electron Microscopy Technology (SEMT)
The SEMT is one of the foremost user groups in the UK and a forum for ideas on techniques and applications in microscopy. It has a popular one day meeting held in London each year.
Cryo Microscopy Group (CMG)
The Cryo Microscopy Group (CMG), serves to foster interest in low temperature approaches to microscopy and analysis. It has an annual meeting that includes talks on advances in the field of Cryo-EM and its applications, often by internationally renowned speakers.
EM-UK
EM-UK is an email networking group for those with a professional interest in electron microscopy to share and exchange knowledge. It is open to anyone, from students to centre director, working with electron microscopy in the academic, industrial or manufacturing sectors, primarily in life or physical sciences. It held an inaugural meeting in January 2016 at Rothamsted Research, Harpenden which was well attended and produced lively discussions on key topics.
